What is Pro-Response's "Ad Tracking"?
Pro-Response allows you to categorize your leads using the "ad tracking" feature. Many customers use this feature to keep track of where they acquired each of their leads. For instance, you could assign each lead that comes through your web form the ad tracking category "web_form", those that come through newsletters the category "newsletter", and those that come through classified ads the category "classified".
Once you've used this feature to track your leads, you can login to your Customer Control Panel to
see a graphical report detailing lead responses to each ad.
How Can I Assign Ad Categories to Leads Acquired Through E-Mail?
To assign ad categories to leads acquired through e-mail, simply direct your leads to send e-mail to a modified version of your Pro-Response autoresponder address. Pick an ad name, and add it to your address as follows:
listname.ad_name@pro-response.com
Leads who e-mail your modified Pro-Response autoresponder address will be added to your autoresponder, and assigned to the appropriate ad category.
Valid ad names may contain letters, numbers, hyphens, or underscores, but not spaces. Use this modified autoresponder address everywhere you advertise, including in e-mail, print, and web marketing materials.
How Can I Assign Ad Categories to Leads Acquired Through My Web Form?
Use Pro-Response's ad tracking feature to keep track of how customers respond to ads that are placed on different areas of your web site.
To incorporate the ad tracking feature into your web form, simply replace the word "adcategory" in your form's HTML code with the ad category you would like to use. For example, change it to "homepage", "contactpage", or "newsletter". Valid ad category names may contain letters, numbers, hyphens, or underscores, but not spaces. The category can contain up to 20 characters, and must be placed between quotes.

- Login to the Customer Control Panel from the top of the main Pro-Response page using your login name and password. This will bring up a page titled "Online Customer Control Panel."
- In the upper right-hand corner of this page is a drop-down box titled "Select List." Choose the name of the list you want to edit, and click the "Go" button. The page will reload.
- Click the "Help" tab. This will bring up a page titled "Send Help Request."
- Click the blue "User Guide" button in the menu bar at the top of the page. This will bring up a page titled "User Guide - Overview of Functions."
- Scroll Down to the section titled "Adding an Pro-Response Form to Your Web Site."
- Follow those instructions, particularly those listed under "Edit #2: Ad Tracking."
How Can I Assign Ad Categories to Leads Already in My Autoresponder?
- Login to the Customer Control Panel from the top of the main Pro-Response page using your login name and password. This will bring up a page titled "Online Customer Control Panel."
- In the upper right-hand corner of this page is a drop-down box titled "Select List." Choose the name of the list you want to edit, and click the "Go" button. The page will reload.
- Click the "Leads" tab. This will bring up a page titled "Search Leads."
- Click the "Display" button.
- After the "Search Leads" page reloads, scroll down to the "Report" table.
- See the "Category" column? When a lead is assigned an ad category, it will show up here.
- Assign an ad category to a lead who was added without one by typing it into this field, and clicking the "Save Changes and Update Leads List" button.
How Can I See the Ad Category Assigned to Each of My Leads?
- Login to the Customer Control Panel from the top of the main Pro-Response page using your login name and password. This will bring up a page titled "Online Customer Control Panel."
- In the upper right-hand corner of this page is a drop-down box titled "Select List." Choose the name of the list you want to edit, and click the "Go" button. The page will reload.
- Click the "Leads" tab. This will bring up a page titled "Search Leads."
- Click the "Display" button.
- After the "Search Leads" page reloads, scroll down to the "Report" table.
- Each lead's ad name is listed in the "Category" column.
How Can I View A Graphical Report of My Ad Tracking Statistics?
- Login to the Customer Control Panel from the top of the main Pro-Response page using your login name and password. This will bring up a page titled "Online Customer Control Panel."
- In the upper right-hand corner of this page is a drop-down box titled "Select List." Choose the name of the list you want to edit, and click the "Go" button. The page will reload.
- Click the "Reports" tab. This will bring up a page titled "Statistics for Leads & Messages."
- Click the "Ad Categories - Subscribed" link in the blue bar along the left side of the page. This will bring up a report titled "Ad Categories - Subscribed."
- Click the ad category to view a list of all leads assigned to that category.
